Lihua smiled without taking her eyes off the numbers.
—Only one.
He tensed up.
—I shouldn’t have made you wait any longer before saying yes.
Emiliano turned her around in his arms.
—I have one too.
-Which?
—Not having met you sooner.
She rested her forehead against his.
—Perhaps I had to survive first.
He kissed her gently.
