Part 2: Dinner
On Thanksgiving Day, the atmosphere at Bella’s was warm and lively. The teams were ready, the private room perfectly set.
When my family arrived, I greeted them with a smile. My uncle Robert, who had come from far away, admired the place with enthusiasm. Michael and Ashley seemed a little nervous.
“Evelyn!” exclaimed Robert. “I didn’t know you frequented places like that.”
“Let’s just say I know the house well,” I replied lightly.
The meal began. Each dish elicited compliments. Conversations flowed freely.
“So, Evelyn,” Robert asked, “your mother told me you’re still working in the restaurant business.”
“Yes,” I agreed. “I’ve been developing projects for a few years now.”
Michael smiled. “She’s modest.”
